Using Transit to plan a Toronto journey
Transit can make route numbers, directions, stops, and transfers easier to understand. It is useful, but optional—and it does not pay your fare.

What it helps with
- Shows nearby TTC and regional transit routes.
- Plans journeys and gives step-by-step navigation.
- Displays scheduled or real-time departure estimates.
- Helps identify stops, directions, route numbers, and transfers.
- Can show transit information, service changes, and alerts.

What it does not do
Transit does not pay the TTC fare. Pay separately using PRESTO, contactless credit/debit, a valid ticket, or another accepted TTC payment method.
No route-planning app can guarantee an exact arrival time. Check live service alerts before an important connection.

- Google Maps is a valid journey-planning alternative.
- The official TTC Trip Planner can plan journeys across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.
- The app is free to download; optional premium features may exist. TTC-supported enhanced features can change.
